Award Winning Image To Grace New Maine Coast Memorial Hospital ER

The Award Winning Image of “The Bass Harbor Lighthouse at Dusk” was chosen from a group of images submitted by various photographers in Downeast Maine.  The ER Nursing Staff and Upper Level Management at Maine Coast Memorial Hospital were called upon to judge the images. The selected Bass Harbor Lighthouse image was used in the creation of a stunning 15×15 foot mural that will grace the wall behind the reception desk and next to the waiting room area of the new ER facility at MCMH.

The image was created by Riverside Studio
Photographer, William Brehm. It received the highest score of all images submitted in the 2008 Maine Professional Photographer’s Print Competition and was awarded the coveted “Fuji Masterpiece Award” at the MPPA convention awards banquet in 2008. We feel privileged to have had the opportunity to contribute to the creation of the new ER space at MCMH and to have the opportunity to work with one of the nation’s leading mural designers. The image will also have an accompanying plaque dedicating the image to the memory of William & Honora Brehm’s faithful canine companion “Little Bear” who crossed the Rainbow Bridge on February 10th, 2010 just 10 days short of his fifteenth birthday.

The lighthouse photo is beautiful. My condolences on Little Bear.

  2. Bill, Little Bear had such a sweet, loving face, and I’m certain it matched his spirit, based on all of your anecdotes about him over the years. You have our most sincere condolences, as I’m sure you know. I think your dear old pup is looking down now, smiling over the antics of Buddy, your newest addition, and chuckling in his own canine way over how his family deals with all that new, buoyant, youthful energy.

My sincerest condolences on your loss. I know how much all your animals meant to you and were part of the family. Something in his ears and face remind me of Aiko. I truly believe in the Rainbow bridge and know that we will all be reunited with our loved ones (furry and otherwise)

  4. This pic is so sweet. My dog Arlo passed in June, just turned 15. He had a great life but we miss him. Your Little Bear has that sweet older dog look that melts my heart. Our new puppy Baxter was at the Hancock County SPCA Pet Fair in NE Harbor in August (he was the puppy). We had the card you gave us for the photos, and lost it, so didn’t have the website. We just discovered you here. Any chance we can still see the web page to order pics?
